‘Not enough’ – Club reject Nottingham Forest’s offer for 31-year-old.
SC Braga’s Matheus has become the latest goalkeeper to end up on Nottingham Forest’s radar for the summer window.
That’s according to Sportitalia, who state the Tricky Trees offered €6m to the Portuguese club for the 31-year-old.
It’s claimed Nottingham Forest’s bid was ‘not enough’ for Braga, who turned it down. The outlet makes it clear this is their original information.
There’s no mention if the Premier League side will return with an improved bid to sign the stopper or if Braga are open to parting ways with him in this window.
Matheus joined Braga in 2014 and has been their first-choice goalkeeper since the start of the 2017/18 season. He kept 20 clean sheets and conceded 49 goals from 40 games last season. The South American’s deal expires in 2027.
Manchester United’s Dean Henderson was the main goalkeeper at Nottingham Forest last season. He picked up an injury, forcing the Tricky Trees to sign Paris Saint-Germain’s Keylor Navas on loan in January. The duo have now returned to their parent clubs.
