Fabrizio Romano shares latest on Bukayo Saka’s Arsenal contract extension
Bukayo Saka‘s contract was originally supposed to expire this summer, but Arsenal used their option to extend that by another year.
That gave them time to negotiate a new deal with the Englishman, who is arguably the club’s most important player.
Talks have been ongoing for a long, long time now, but if Fabrizio Romano is to be believed, a deal is done and an official announcement should be out soon.
The journalist claimed that Saka has penned a new contract that will keep him at Arsenal at least until 2028.
He tweeted late last night: “Bukayo Saka will sign a new contract soon as it’s only a matter of time. It was agreed two months ago, it’s sealed — there are no changes.
“New deal will be valid until June 2028 — Arsenal announcement expected soon.”
Even though Saka isn’t like any of those players, it was always a risk to allow him to enter the final year of his contract, especially as he’s one of the best young players in the world and would start at most clubs across the globe.
Thankfully for Arsenal fans, they have nothing to be worried about now.
