The Italian news outlet shared (30 January) that La Liga are on the hunt for a new defensive transfer this month and Godfrey has emerged as a possible target

Contacts have been made from Atletico with Godfrey also attracting interest from elsewhere but Diego Simeone’s men have firmly put him on their list of targets.

Tuttomercatoweb journalist Marco Conterio shared on his X account (30 January): “Not only Gabriel Paulista of Valencia, Atletico Madrid also targets Ben Godfrey.

It has been clear for some time that Godfrey is now little more than a spare part at Everton. He has found regular football hard to come by under Sean Dyche and a move away this month would be ideal for all parties involved.
